Mackinac Island is one of Michigan’s most popular attractions, especially during the nice summer months when its population increases from 500 to 15,000. Much of the reason for this is due to it being home to a relaxed atmosphere that causes visitors to feel like they’ve gone back in time. No cars have been allowed here since 1898, which adds to the place’s cool environment. What is there to do on Mackinac Island? You have so many options, which may be surprising to some considering that this destination only consists of 4 square miles. Mackinac Island Carriage ToursIf this is your first visit to the island, make sure to take advantage of the Mackinac Island Carriage Tours. Doing so provides you with a cozy, informative experience that allows you to see much of this quaint community while learning about its history and its presence thanks to the accompanied narration. The ride lasts about 1-¾ hours. Bike Ride on M-185You’re most likely going to want to bring on the ferry or rent on arrival a bicycle to allow you to more easily make your away around this car-less island. If you do, consider taking the 8-mile trip on M-185, the highway that encircles the island. It’s the country’s only state highway that is never overrun with motor vehicles, and the ride is an especially relaxing one. Swim?If you’re on a beautiful island, you’re going to want to go swimming. Well, maybe not. Unfortunately, the water surrounding Mackinac Island tends to be chilly throughout the year, but you should at least get your feet wet as you make your way as far into the water as you’re comfortable. Sunset WatchingFew places in the world compare to Mackinac Island as far as sunset views go. Here, you get to see the sun dip below the horizon just after it passes Mackinac Bridge, the 5-mile overpass that has brought this state’s peninsulas together since 1957. Grand HotelYou may not want to spend all of your time outside although that will surely be tempting if you’re enjoying what Mackinac Island has to offer during the summer months. However, the Grand Hotel is one indoor destination that you should consider visiting, even if you don’t stay at this upscale attraction. It was built in 1884 and, in many ways, brings visitors more than 100 years into the past. Note that an admission fee is charged if you are not a guest of the hotel. Main StreetMain Street is filled with shops that encompass architecture that was popular in the 1800s. In fact, some buildings even predate that time period. These stores sell things ranging from the expected touristic fare to higher-end items. One especially intriguing place is Great Turtle Toys. Fort MackinacThis fort was initially built by British forces during the Revolutionary War in an attempt to keep Americans from gaining control of Michigan while many of its current structures were built in the 1800s. It was also the location of two battles during the War of 1812. The views from here are spectacular. Prior to making your way on the ferry to Mackinac Island, make sure that you’re wearing some Michigan-inspired apparel. Several wineries are scattered throughout the Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, and the area is served by some excellent restaurants. PetoskeyIf you’re looking for a refreshing fall color tour the kids will especially love, Livnfresh suggests this two fun October excursions. Relax and ride on a train pulled by a Great Lakes Central Diesel Locomotive. Get drenched in northern Michigan’s color as you leave the driving to the conductor. This roundtrip tour runs on the weekend of October 12 and 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy the ride south from Petoskey to Boyne Mountain Resort. The slopes are closed, but they operate their Hemlock lift for a bird’s eye view of stunning fall color. If you choose to check-in and stay at the resort, the lift rides are complimentary. Otherwise, the small price of $9 per person is well-worth this unique color tour. Glen Arbor and the M-22A drive around the Leelanau Peninsula on the M-22 is a favorite Michigan fall color tour in the Glen Arbor area. In fact, this color tour was nominated for one of USA Today’s “10 Best Awards.” As you wind along the shoreline of the peninsula, you’ll pass through quaint towns surrounded by steep hills and colorful coastal views. The changing season brings with it cooler weather, festive spirits, and delicious apples, ripe on the tree. And we all know what the best thing to do with apples is. You turn them into delicious hard cider! Here at Livnfresh, we love autumn, and we love a crisp hard cider even more. With that said, we’ve put together a well-rounded list of our staff favorites to share with you. Grab one or a couple of them, and cuddle up next to the fire to warm yourself inside and out. Stella Artois CidreStella is known for their ale, but they have a mouth-watering cider as well. Or in their words, “cidre.” This European style cider is crisp and bright and has a flavor profile that’s perfectly balanced between sweetness and dryness. This cider is a little more carbonated than the usual suspects, giving it a champaign-like quality. If you’re looking for a light and balanced cider, this one will absolutely not disappoint. And if you’re a big-time Stella fan, they also make their own cider glass to drink this from. Angry Orchard Crisp Hard CiderAngry Orchard’s cider is a mainstay in the hard cider world, and while it’s not pushing any boundaries, it does its thing and does it well. It’s one we go back to time and again. It’s a full-bodied, complex cider that’s more sweet than dry. The vibrant and crisp flavor will have you feeling like you just bit into a gala apple that’s fresh off the tree. Seattle Cider Company Dry Hard CiderSeattle Cider Company’s ciders aim to bring a note of sophistication to hard ciders by bridging the gap between beer and fine wines. Their ciders are all small-batch and are somewhat complex, and their dry hard cider is no exception. There isn’t much sweetness here; this is the driest of dry ciders, with tangy hints of Granny Smith apples. If you want a cider that’s reminiscent of nippy autumn days and tart apple pie, this is the one for you. J.K.’s Scrumpy Orchard Gate GoldThis is the only cider in our list that comes with a certified organic stamp. It’s been in production for over 150 years, and it’s actually the same recipe that saved their family orchard from ruin during the great depression. It’s fermented and aged naturally in small artisanal batches and then bottled by hand, making every bottle just slightly different. It’s a well-rounded, top-notch cider that’s not too sweet or too dry. Crispin Pacific Pear CiderWho says ciders have to be an apple? To round out our list, and because it’s a longtime favorite of ours, we’re gonna finish strong with the Crispin Pacific Pear Cider. If you like pears, you’ll love this cider. It’s light, balanced, and has a crisp zing to it that’ll warm your insides and leave a smile on your face. from Livnfresh Blog|The Coolest State Apparel Co. https://blog.livnfresh.com/5-best-hard-ciders/ from Livnfresh Share Your State Pride. https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/post/187984209442 via https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/ via Tumblr https://annchumleigh.tumblr.com/post/187984245085 Many of you may have a bucket list, and maybe it focuses on your passion. Did you know that many of those passions can be fed right here in Northern Michigan? Whether you are interested in food and wine, sports, or the beauty and wonder of nature, many activities in Northern Michigan should be on your bucket list. Here are just a few to get you started. Wine Tasting on the 45th ParallelWine aficionados know that many great wine regions cluster around the 45th parallel. But you do not have to travel to Italy’s Piedmont region or Bordeaux, France to experience grapes grown halfway between the equator and the North Pole. Taste some of the best wine in the world on a tasting tour of Old Mission peninsula or Grand Traverse county wineries. Spend a day or a weekend traveling out Highway 37 tasting wine and enjoying the beautiful views of Grand Traverse Bay from the Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail. Start at Black Star Farms which offers 45 wines, ciders and spirits. Chateau Chantal is a sprawling operation where you can enjoy cooking classes and live music, or spend the evening in their bed and breakfast. Located at the end of the trail, 2Lads Winery specializes in sparkling wines. There are also many wineries closer to Traverse City. Try The Rove Estate which sits on the highest point in Leelanau County and has been family-owned for 130 years. Hot Air Balloon RidesA peaceful, but thrilling ride in a hot air balloon is the perfect way to view the beautiful lakes, forests, and coastline of Northern Michigan. Come to see the bright fall color from the sky, or visit in the spring when the cherry trees are blooming. You will enjoy the view anytime from May to October. Balloon ride outfitters offer rides with a group in 10-person baskets and romantic, private experiences in a four-person basket. Friday Night LightsMaybe attending a Superbowl or the Rose Bowl is on your bucket list, but why not see a football game where the game has been played since American football was invented. Three high schools play under the Friday night lights at Thirlby Field in Traverse City, Michigan. The stadium was built in 1934, but the Traverse City Trojans have been playing football on the field since 1896. The West Titans and the St. Francis Gladiators also play at Thirlby. Most tickets are less than ten dollars. Historic DiningNorthern Michigan is famous for delicious treats from Traverse City cherries to Mackinac Island fudge, but you can also find some iconic restaurants that would make any foodies bucket list. Try the Legs Inn in Cross Village where the Smolak family has been serving Polish cuisine for more than 100 years. Or drop by Art’s Tavern in Glen Arbor and enjoy their famous burgers under a ceiling of hundreds of college and sports pennants. Though Art is not there anymore, the tavern has been open since 1934. Natural BeautyIf experiencing the grandeur and spectacle of nature is high on your bucket list, there are a few spots in Northern Michigan you can not miss. Visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, which Good Morning America called “The Most Beautiful Place in America.” in 2011. Experience the dreamlike Tunnel of Trees by car or bicycle. A canopy of hardwoods surrounds the 20-mile stretch of M-119 which runs along a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, we at Livnfresh highly recommend you take in all this historic landmark has to offer via one of the many tours offered during the spring and fall seasons. Additionally, you should avail yourself of any of the many special events available throughout the year. Your visit will be made extra special when you enjoy high tea during a tour of the ever-enchanting Cranbrook House. Cranbrook HouseDesigned in 1908 by Albert Kahn, the Cranbrook House was the family home of the George and Ellen Booth for 40 years. It is the oldest remaining manor home in the area and reflects the style of English Arts and Crafts. The house abounds with the work of the finest craftsman and artisans of that period. You can enjoy the awe-inspiring stained and leaded glass, tiles, and tapestries. Oak roomThis room features the spectacular woodcarving craftsmanship of John Kirchmayer, evident in the hand-carved oak paneling. The beautifully crafted cartouches honor Cranbrook- and Booth-related events. LibraryAdded in 1918, the library is undoubtedly a reflection of George Booth’s love of arts and crafts. It is filled with the finest hand-woven tapestries, hand-made furniture, and hand-carved walls. It also boasts a collection of over 6,000 hand-bound books, something we at Livnfresh are truly in awe of. Dining roomYou must not miss a tour of the dining room. The stunning dining table, dinnerware, and amazing portrait will leave you breathless. Additionally, during the tour, you will be treated to a very interesting family story that may leave you wondering if any of it is true. The GardensA visit to the gardens provides visitors with soothing sounds flowing from the many gorgeous fountains. Beyond the fountains, visitors will enjoy the enchanting aromas emanating from the flower gardens. Being that the property covers over 40 acres, you can enjoy an afternoon of walking as you take in a variety of gardens filled with statuaries, fountains, and plants as well as the beautiful streams and lakes. We at Livnfresh think the following gardens are among the best Cranbrook has to offer. Herb GardenAn old-fashioned Valarium greets each visitor with a relaxing vanilla aroma. We at Livnfresh encourage you to see the statue of Ecolo, the Goddess of Earth, by Mario Korbel as it overlooks and protects the garden. Japanese GardenThe exotic, natural beauty makes this garden one of our most favorite places to relax and unwind. All of us Livnfresh are in awe of the large variety of shrubs and trees. Some of the more notable ones include the purple Liriope, the Tree Peonies, and the amazing Japanese Maples. Interestingly, this garden is among the oldest of Japanese gardens in North America. Sunken GardenA favorite of new and returning visitors, the Sunken Gardens will not disappoint. The unique color combinations and patterns that weave their way through the garden result in a botanical work of art that is a magnificent sight to behold. The mixture of annuals and perennials encompassing the field-stone walls, along with the 2019 addition of over 3,000 Marigolds and SunPatiens planted within the four center rows, are an undeniable visual wonder. Reflecting Pool Herb GardenOffering amazing views of the Cranbrook House all the way to the Cranbrook Museum, the reflecting pool is lined with white fragrant lilies and gaillardia. The sporadically placed annuals provide flashes of orange, white, and yellow. If you visit during the late summer, you will be privy to the spectacular display of orange from the Praetoria Cannas. If you’re living in, around, or happen to be visiting the town of Traverse City, Michigan, making time to pay homage to one of its many farmer’s markets are well worth the trip. Whether you’re searching for organic groceries, spices, or just something quick and healthy for that afternoon’s lunch, you can rest assure that bazaars like these offer what you seek. Keep reading below for the scoop on Traverse City farmers markets, when to visit them, and how you can support local by shopping local: 1. Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers MarketWhere: Parking Lot B, at the southwest corner of Cass and Grandview Parkway in downtown Traverse City, across from Clinch Park. This market may, on occasion, be temporarily relocated to accommodate other events happening in the same space. Did we mention it’s just a quick, two-minute drive from the Livnfresh store? Sounds to us like a shopping trip is in order! When: Saturdays – 7:30 a.m. to noon; Wednesdays – 8:00 a.m. to noon. What: The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market, named after one of Traverse City’s leading philanthropists, is a grassroots market that’s grown from hosting only ten vendors in 1984, to proudly serving as one of the state’s largest farmers markets overall, and the largest growers-only market. Currently, the market serves over 115 local area farmers. In keeping with its passionate roots of philanthropy, the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market observes a firm belief in food accessibility, and thus accepts the following food assistance programs: EBT/SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, Senior Project Fresh, Project Fresh, & Hoophouses for Health. So, what are you waiting for? Pick up a cappuccino to fuel your searches and get ready to stumble across fresh floral bouquets, strawberry rhubarb pies, and all the baskets of berries your heart (or stomach) could possibly desire! 2. The Village Farmers MarketWhere: Outdoors on The Piazza (between Cottage view and Red Drive) during the months of May through October, and inside The Mercato corridor between November and April. When: During the warmer months of May through October, the outdoor farmers market happens on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Between November and April, you can shop indoors on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. What: Go ahead and make up that grocery list. The Village Farmers Market offers farm fresh eggs, milk, fish, meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, honey, preserves, homemade pasta and bread, maple syrup, baked goods, and more! Depending on when you go, there are even cooking classes available that are specifically designed with all of your freshly found ingredients in mind. 3. Gallagher’s Farm Market And BakeryWhere: Off of East Traverse Highway. When: During the months of June through October from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m., seven days a week. What: Gallagher’s Farm Market and Bakery were opened in 1971 by Jack and Bernie Gallagher. The market is still running strong today, now operated (for the past 40 years) by Gallagher’s daughter, Maria Lammers, and her husband Sid. Come June, when the local asparagus and strawberry crop begin to ripen, the market opens, and the market remains open until October when Gallagher’s famous pumpkin donuts and apple cider can really take the spotlight. Mouthwatering? Understandable! Stop by Gallagher’s Farm Market and Bakery to browse through a fine selection of wines, jams, jellies, salsas, sauces, assorted candies, and produce, but stay for the seasonal rotation of sweets prepared in-house… blueberry ice-cream and a slice of peach pie, anyone? from Livnfresh Blog|The Coolest State Apparel Co. https://blog.livnfresh.com/traverse-city-farmers-markets/ from Livnfresh Share Your State Pride. https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/post/187780110612 via https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/ via Tumblr https://annchumleigh.tumblr.com/post/187780137540 Michigan, of course, is known for its lakes, but it should be known for its farmers’ markets. In fact, many of the markets statewide have won awards and continue to draw crowds of thousands per season. The best is not always the better-known ones. In fact, some of the more distant markets have some of the best products in the state. 1. InterlochenMarked by rows of tents, the Interlochen Farmers Market is more of a food and fun fair than it is a traditional farmer’s market. In addition to locally grown veggies, fruit, and seasoned pork, beef and other types of delicious summer sausages, the market showcases handmade wares crafted by local artisans. These include larger items, such quilts and t-shirts, and smaller kitchen-based items, such as potholders and hot pads. Finally, a clear favorite of ours at Livnfresh, there are a variety of stone pendants made by local jewelers. Of course, it would not be much of a farmers’ market without the food. In this, the market does not disappoint. Some of the most outstanding products include the following. – pickles 2. Oscoda-AuSableThe Northeast Michigan Regional Farmer Market is a lesser-known market with a big name. It has been in operation for 20 years, so the vendors here know how to really light up the table. Its origins begin with one woman’s search for local fresh garlic. Her frustration from having to drive two hours led to the birth of the farmer’s market located in Oscoda-AuSable. Today, it offers much more than fresh garlic–though that is a common bit of produce that is always on hand. Other fresh foods include the staples. However, we at Livnfresh adore many of the delicious niche items. – purple radishes The market is open Wednesdays, and although those of us at Livnfresh have found that such an array of fresh food can typically lighten the bank account, this market accepts the following food benefits. – SNAP 3. DearbornDearborn ranks eighth in terms of population, and the Dearborn Farmers and Artisan Market rank near the top in terms of all farmers’ markets statewide. The market, itself, is comprised of rows of vendor tents that showcase fresh veggies, salted meats, and fresh jams and jellies. However, it also is the primary storefront for local artisans that specialize in jewelry and woodcarving. One popular craft includes brightly painted, fruit-themed pottery capable of making a happy kitchen even happier. In addition to being a trade show, it is also an artisan clinic where kids and adults can receive a primer in such crafts as pottery spinning from local artisans. Other crafts available for sale include kitchen plaques. Other on-site market shows include the “cook-with-butter” challenge. To top off the entertainment, music is provided by a range of local and regional talents, such as One Man Music Band and Robin Horlock. As with many markets where salsa is a staple, this market is no different. Salsa ranges from mild-flavored with sweet peppers to eye-watering habaneros, but one of the most delicious attractions is the cow-friendly “Pure Pasture” cheese where the cheese is harvested from the milk of the beloved, free-range, grass-fed cows that do not undergo hormone treatment. Finally, to go along with that delicious cheese, a wide assortment of wines are also available. In an attempt to support everyone interested in eating healthier, The Dearborn Farmers and Artisan Market accept WIC and Double-Up Food Bucks. from Livnfresh Blog|The Coolest State Apparel Co. https://blog.livnfresh.com/best-farmers-markets-in-michigan/ from Livnfresh Share Your State Pride. https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/post/187683600927 via https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/ via Tumblr https://annchumleigh.tumblr.com/post/187684639375 If its two flagship universities are any indication, the state of Michigan takes football seriously. Of course, great college gridiron heroes are formed before any acceptance letter arrives. What they do in high school can determine the path of collegiate play…and beyond. The good news is that Michigan has no shortage of exceptional coaching talent in its high schools. Some, in fact, are particularly stellar. They not only convey the best knowledge in terms of technical skill and strategy, but they also excel in the area of character formation. Five of these top-flight coaches are highlighted below. Ron BellamyOnce a wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines and several NFL teams, Ron Bellamy assumed his coaching duties at West Bloomfield High School in 2010. Within a short time, he delivered six consecutive winning seasons and five playoff appearances. The key to his success at WBHS is two-fold: he makes victory the anticipated result and never lets his players get discouraged when they suffer a loss. Building a core of premium players–and a strong second string–Coach bellamy was able to staunch the flow of talent to other high schools. Tyrone SpencerDetroit King High School gambled on one of its own three years ago when it appointed alumnus Tyrone Sprncer as the head football coach. Spencer brings his own history as a once unmotivated student-athlete to bear on the students he leads. He credits a number of coaches for changing his thinking and inspiring him to excel at Wayne State University. Arriving at King as a defensive coordinator, Spencer has stacked up 35 wins and only six losses as head coach, leading his team to state championshios in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Shane FairfieldWhen Muskegon High School tapped Shane Fairfield to shepherd its varsity football program in 2010, it turned to a familiar figure. Fairfield had once been a defensive coordinator for the team before becoming head coach at Holton High and then leading the Muskegon Thunder, a professional squad that plays indoor football. The product of a Catholic school education, Coach Fairfiels stresses excellence in the details, the little things that make all the difference in life. Inheriting a winning program, Fairfield brought it to the next level with a 27 consecutive game winning streak and two consecutive state championships. Mike GiannoneMike Giannone understands the advantages of being the second choice. Formerly the leader of the Macomb Dakota Cougars–where the top pick withdrew–Giannone again stood next in line to another favored candidate at Warren de La Salle High School. That selection, too, decided against the job, leaving open an excellent opportunity for Giannone, the runner-up. Since assuming command at De La Salle, a team that had posted embarrassing losing records, this coach transformed it into a playoff-worthy football program. In fact, only a year after coming to De La Salle, Giannone was named Coach of the Year by the Detroit Free Press, due in large part to the De La Salle Pilots’ capture of the Division 2 state championship. Adopting the De La Salle motto, “Builder of Boys, Maker of Men,” as his own, Coach Giannone stresses strong work ethic through his own rugged example. Jermain CrowellIn 2015, Belleville High School brought Jermain Crowell on board as its head football coach. After a long career as an assistant coach at schools all over Detroit, Crowell landed at Belleville raising expectations, and the overall levels of physical and mental toughness. He tells his Tigers is that even the best players must follow the rules. Belleville now ranks #2 in Michigan. best michigan clothing companyfrom Livnfresh Blog|The Coolest State Apparel Co. https://blog.livnfresh.com/5-most-influential-high-school-football-coaches/ from Livnfresh Share Your State Pride. https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/post/187603192492 via https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/ via Tumblr https://annchumleigh.tumblr.com/post/187603298210 Just because it’s cold outside, does not mean you cannot enjoy a great cocktail. Soon, the fireplace will be roaring, and the snow will be falling. Why not make it a great night indoors with some great cocktails. We have some tremendous mixed drink ideas for the upcoming cold-weather season. Irish CoffeeBring out your inner leprechaun with this fantastic cocktail. The ingredients in Irish Coffee are pretty simple to execute. Hot coffee, Jameson Irish Whiskey, stirred sugar, topped with whipped cream make this toasty treat. A perfect way to wind down on a cold winter’s night. Spiced CiderThe leaves are falling, and the cool crisp autumn air is upon us. No drink can be more cliche of the fall season than apple cider. Kick it up a notch by making it a fantastic cocktail. Take Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, some apple cider, and a little bit of cinnamon syrup for this delicious treat. You’ll look forward to those breezy nights on the front porch sipping your hot cider. Hot ToddyThe cold and flu season also starts when cold weather comes around. A hot toddy is a complete relief for sniffles, sore throats, runny noses, headaches, and many other ailments. Hot water, bourbon, lemon juice, honey, and a tea bag of your choice is the perfect medley for the cold weather symptoms. You can also enjoy a hot toddy as a relaxing, before bedtime drink (decaf tea of course)! Boozy Hot ChocolateA great way to cap off a pot roast dinner on a cold night is a belly-warming cup of hot chocolate. With some warm milk, chopped semisweet chocolate, and some bourbon, you have the perfect spiked hot chocolate. Bring out your inner child and garnish with mini marshmallows. The memories of sled riding and building snowmen will be coming out of the woodwork as you sip on this classic cocktail. Classic EggnogYou can hear “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” playing in the background with this classic. This rich and creamy favorite will be the main attraction at your next winter party. Make it yourself instead of pouring from a plastic bottle to bring that unique ambiance to your next get together. White RussianKahlua coffee liqueur, vodka, and fresh cream create this cold-weather classic. The cream sitting on top of the glass resemble a fresh snowfall. Serve in an old-fashioned glass for the perfect experience. Bloody MaryAn excellent cocktail for Saturday morning football. Tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, and some other simple ingredients are the staples for this cocktail. You can elevate the spice level by adding hot sauce. Tabasco is a classic brand for this cocktail, but you can experiment with different flavors and brands. If you’re looking to add a little variety to your cocktails as the weather gets a little cooler, give these a try. Your only problem will be all the guests lining up outside your door when they see how amazing they taste. best michigan clothing companyfrom Livnfresh Blog|The Coolest State Apparel Co. https://blog.livnfresh.com/best-mixed-drinks/ from Livnfresh Share Your State Pride. https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/post/187511155242 via https://livnfresh.tumblr.com/ via Tumblr https://annchumleigh.tumblr.com/post/187511266520 Navigation: When it comes to getting in the water and having fun, the Pontoon boats are the ones you want to use to ramp up the excitement. Of course, the answer is yes, but it will depend on whether the motor size can handle it. You want to be careful when dealing with the size of what’s being so that you don’t miss the boat up. The Motor SizeThe motor size for the boat is important because you need to determine what is best for your Pontoon boat. Understanding the way horsepower works will help you get the correct motor size. Looking at the manual that’s on board the boat is very helpful. It will not only tell you what size motor is best also it’s pulling capacity. Having a Pontoon boat is an experience that you will never forget but you want to keep in good condition by making sure the engine can handle the constant pulling. You need to be careful not The HorsepowerIt’s all about the calculation of the horsepower. Once you find out what you are working with, it will be easy to get the right motor. The calculation is also really easy to determine. Basically, you just take the weight of the boat and divide by the number on the horse-powered engine. If you get a decimal figure, you are in good shape and the lower that figure the more speed you get from the boat. Also, a wonderful idea is to look at the outboards. You don’t want too many of them in the boat because it will make the engine work harder to pull. It’s best to not put too much horsepower on a Pontoon boat because you will get a fine or maybe suffer damage to it. You could also injure the person your pulling along with your boat. Water Skiers, WakeBoarders, And TubersIf you have an engine that is at least well over 50 horsepower, then you have a good boat to pull a water skier. You and that person are going to have a great time because they know what do in order to get the ride going fast enough for you to enjoy the water around you as you ski. It’s definitely the same with wakeboarders. When enjoying the water, you need to make sure that you are a safe distance from the boat so that when you fall in the water, you don’t get cut by the motor. It’s a good idea to check the cord that you will be using to pull you while you are riding out into the water. As long as the boat is at the right horsepower and the water tube is well inflated, you should not have any problems pulling at least no more than three people on at a time. Being pulled by a Pontoon boat is very exciting and definitely something different. You will need to make sure your horsepower can do it.
